However, it’s important to note that WordPress’s success in the market can primarily be attributed to its relative ease of use once you start playing around with the various settings and workflows available in the platform.

In this video, we discuss the basics of WordPress, from what it is to a general overview of how it works. We’ll also answer a few common WordPress FAQs that you might have about your upcoming website redesign project.

Website Settings

WordPress website settings are generally the realm of your agency partner or developer. However, it’s important to understand what’s available to change in these settings, as well as the opportunities for customization that are possible when you have a deeper understanding of how WordPress works.

This video covers the basics of what you need to know about your website’s settings. Importantly, you should always discuss the changes you want to make with your agency partner or developer first to ensure you won’t unintentionally affect some functionality on your website.

Building out a strong WordPress website security and maintenance plan is critical to ensuring the long-term health of your website, confirming you’re following all relevant laws and regulations in your industry, and otherwise providing better experiences to clients and employees alike.

In this video, we discuss the basics of website security and maintenance, from proper password security to your web application firewall (WAF), backups, and regular maintenance tasks.

Basic Troubleshooting

Most WordPress issues can be traced back to a few common errors that are relatively simple to fix with the help of your development partner.

From caching problems to issues uploading images, the first step in fixing the problem is identifying what type of issue it is and then passing that information along to your developer.

In this video, we discuss a few topics you should consider when performing basic troubleshooting on your website, with the goal that by the end, you’ll be able to identify the most common problems in WordPress and be able to communicate clearly with your agency partner or developer about the steps to solve these issues.

Flex Modules

A flex module is a CMS component that takes content added through the WordPress dashboard and displays it on the front end using a standardized design layout. Importantly, you can reuse the flex module on other pages, allowing you to add similar content to other pages while following a standardized framework that ensures ongoing brand consistency and design integrity.

In this video, we discuss the basics of what you need to know about flex modules, from what they are to how you can use them on your websites to build compelling, flexible pages.
